Yoga is a science, from India, that has been around for thousands of years. The combination of postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayamas) was designed to suspend all mental activity and connect to a higher source. They function together as a tool to explore our inner consciousness. “Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.” — Patanjali Yoga Sutras.
Yoga is for everyone. Is it a personal practice that we do for ourselves; a journey towards self-discovery and each individual takes his or her own experience from it. To find your true nature and your own rhythm is to honour who you really are.

When yoga was introduced to Western culture, its essence was lost in translation. Now, it has expanded and it has become popular. We see it all over social media, in movies, on YouTube and more. While all intentions are for the greater good, much focus is on perfecting the asanas. The way it is exposed leads people who are not familiar with it to believe that you have to be flexible and fit to practice it. Its essence goes far beyond holding a perfect posture for a few minutes. It is not important how deep you go in your posture rather how it feels when you’re doing it.
To be able to suspend all our thoughts that fog our minds in our day to day life and connect to our intuitive mind realigns all our vibrations with the universe. To connect to our intuitive mind is to connect to the source, the answer of all things. Our intuition is the most powerful source of wisdom that exists. It takes only a fraction of a second of being connected for things to start to change.
Enter a space free of the ego, free of competition with everyone even with yourself. Yoga is something you learn, more so a philosophy that you understand and, when the time is right, a light will come on. You will feel a channel pulling you and it will all make sense. Yoga has no sense of time, for some people it comes before and for others it comes after.
There is no study in the world that offers the science of soul but the study of Vedanta, which reveals our true nature. Surrender to who you really are by letting go of any old patterns, fears and worries and make space for new visions and dreams. Let go of what is not working and make room for transformation. Once its essence has been captured, yoga will become much more than just a trend, it will become a way of life.
Love and light. Namaste
