Living Your Passion
Finding and creating your life's work, even if it is entirely different from what you have done most of your life, will bring you more happiness and health than any other action you can take. If your primary responsibility in life is being true to yourself, that can only be accomplished by carrying out what you are called to do— your unique and special vocation...Your life's work involves doing what you love and loving what you do.

As I begin this article, I would like to ask every individual what is your passion? Society, media, family and our peers tell us we need to be successful by means of career, social status and education. We pursue university/college degrees, strive for high paying jobs, buy a home and eventually settle down to be married. Working 9–5 jobs becomes a part of our reality and many of us get lost.
These ideologies have somehow become the unwritten rules of life, the pattern that many of us follow unconsciously. During this process, we forget that deep part inside of us that is yearning for something more. It could be starting a new business venture, travelling or following a dream.
I come from a small city in Canada and am blessed to have lived in a beautiful community. Here is my personal story. When I had turned the big 30, I branched out to a larger city in the hope of finding career growth and job security. I see this, now, as materialist gain. I encountered many challenges at my new job but I decided to keep trying my best. I did countless trips of retail therapy and the gym provided much comfort and relief. However, over time my well being, inner spirit and happiness became affected. Something inside guided me to pick up a pen and paper and start writing. Words flew out on paper as if I was composing music. Writing allowed me to release any form of negativity and left me with peace. Writing became my passion, something I had inside me all along. There was a choice I had to make that required a lot of soul searching. When I looked within myself I realized I needed to take some time off work for the benefit of my spirit.
We are all born with potential and have many ideas and knowledge to share with the world. Our passion(s) have always been inside of us waiting quietly for us to awaken. When we give power to our ideas, life changes and opportunities begin to come our way. We focus on what truly is important to us and understand that love, happiness and peace are what matter. To rediscover your passion, reflect on what you loved as a child, meditate, pray and ask the higher power to guide you on your quest. Our hobbies often indicate the type of activities we are passionate about. The most successful human beings are the ones who live their passions and are not afraid to take risks. Financial freedom does not necessarily mean happiness but, instead, can cause emptiness inside. When we are aligned with our passions life flows, effortlessly, in the right direction.
We do not have to do what everyone else is doing, as in following the conventional lifestyle. It is okay to make mistakes, fall down many times, and go off course in your life path. During these times it is a test of character that will shape you to be the person you are meant to be. The process is about looking within to realize we are all born with potential. Writing is my passion and I hope that all individuals will discover theirs along their journeys in life.
