When I was 21 (thirty years ago arghhhh!) I had a transcendental experience. A few days later a Persian Yogi came into my life and helped me to understand the experience I had had. He advised me to read Autobiography of a Yogi and that book, from that moment on, changed my life. A most definite read for young yogis.
After a few years of meditating, I became interested in yoga and was given a book written by a young Swami Sivananda. I cannot remember the title of that book, however, it led me to Yoga Mind Body, a Sivananda Vedanta classic. This book became my bible in this style of Hatha yoga and I still have it, as worn and torn as it is. I will always treasure Sivananda yoga and I continue to practice this style today (with a twist here or there, excuse the pun).

Years and years of yoga and yoga books, B. K. S. Iyengar’s, Light on Yoga, Richard Rosen’s The Yoga of Breath, all of Donna Farhi’s books, Makunda Stiles Structural Yoga Therapy are just a few of my favorites.
Today, my study is moving toward expanded consciousness, expanded awareness of universal realities and the bridge that science plays in deciphering the essence of the Absolute, the key to reality beyond the sub-atomic quantum.
I had heard about Itzhak Bentov’s Stalking the Wild Pendulum and decided that it was now high time to start exploring what this famous author was saying about Kundalini energy and what that really means but from a scientific perspective.

Two of his books came my way, A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness and Stalking the Wild Pendulum. Both opened my mind and heart as never before. This author’s friendly, comic approach makes it easy for the mature reader to understand (if not from a science background), the very mechanics of the fabric of reality, leading ultimately to the Absolute and back again into our holographic reality.
Both books I highly recommend to the seeker that appreciates science and who realizes that science is our guide to learning more about the sacred OM.
These two books are my foundation for understanding more about quantum reality and led me to The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden.
The “matrix” is a term coined by scientist Max Plank, the originator of the quantum theory in the 1940s. This matrix is, in fact, the same as the fifth element we speak about in yoga, the “ether”. It is the container of all things and all things mirror the container in a holographic universe.
Itzhak Bentov does a great explanation of what a hologram is and will really help the inquirer understand more about what this all means. For those that are just getting interested in deeper understanding of the fabric of reality, I might suggest reading Itzhak’s books first.

Gregg Braden, scientist, healer and teacher, reveals in The Divine Matrix that 1% of the square root of a population can cause effect in a small piece of the matrix or holographic reality. The acts of meditation, prayer and emotion are the key to success in changing the outcome, or altering the fabric of reality, as we know it. The key to the reality we currently live in is the constant emotion we collectively “feel” and it is this emotion that projects into the field that we experience in our world. A world based on love or fear — living and feeling in the balanced or lower chakra realms — will produce a corresponding response in the matrix.
The world we see, now, is but a mirror of the mass consciousness. It requires an extreme effort on the part of a few to invoke the feeling of the many that creates the reality we live in. Think about that.
Perhaps the global perception of this truth may be altered, leading us into a parallel reality of “love”’ feeling whilst leaving that “fear” feeling matrix behind. Is it possible to transcend this universe into another reality while living? The realities within the Divine Matrix are infinite.
Funny, I absolutely dig Gregg Braden and his lectures on YouTube have inspired me. A modern day teacher, prophet and healer, I highly recommend that you explore his work and join me in November, in New Mexico, for his retreat, From Cell to Soul: Unleashing the Power of the Uncharted Heart. It just so happens to be occurring on my birthday — a nice birthday gift or rather, much gratitude to the matrix maker! Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you!
